In a significant diplomatic achievement, Saudi Arabia has been re-elected to the Administrative Committee of the Intergovernmental Committee (IGC) on Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Folklore under the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
This re-election reaffirms the Kingdom’s active role in global forums and its commitment to protecting cultural heritage and contributing to international efforts aimed at safeguarding traditional knowledge and intellectual property linked to natural and cultural resources.
The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property emphasized that this reflects the confidence of member states in Saudi Arabia’s growing influence in shaping global IP policies — especially in light of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which advances cultural development, innovation, and the knowledge economy.
