A Comprehensive Outreach Effort for Worshippers and Pilgrims
Saudi Arabia’s religious authorities have distributed more than 56,000 guidance and outreach materials at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah during the first six days of Ramadan 1447. The initiative, overseen by the Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice under the Presidency of Religious Affairs, reflects the Kingdom’s sustained commitment to serving millions of worshippers during the holiest month of the Islamic calendar.
In addition to printed materials, the administration provided direct guidance and counseling services to more than 120,000 visitors at the Prophet’s Mosque alone. The outreach effort included answering religious questions, offering on-site counseling, and distributing a range of educational publications designed to support worshippers in their spiritual journey.
Ministry Launches Second Phase of Awareness Campaign
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance has also launched a series of awareness programs targeting mosques and prayer halls within the central area surrounding the Grand Mosque. This initiative forms part of the second phase of an annual awareness plan tailored to the Umrah season, which coincides with the increased influx of pilgrims during Ramadan.
The program features daily lectures, instructional sessions, and post-prayer sermons conducted by a designated group of official preachers appointed by the ministry. In recognition of the diverse nationalities represented among Umrah pilgrims, interpreters in multiple languages have been deployed to ensure that the awareness message reaches every visitor regardless of their native tongue.
Serving Millions with Precision and Care
The scale of the operation reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing capacity to manage large-scale religious gatherings with professionalism and attention to detail. The Kingdom has invested heavily in expanding the infrastructure and services available at the Two Holy Mosques, from crowd management systems and digital guidance tools to multilingual support teams and enhanced security measures.
During Ramadan 2026, authorities anticipate record numbers of visitors, particularly during the final ten days of the month when Umrah demand peaks. The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has activated a comprehensive readiness plan that includes expanded prayer areas, additional sanitation facilities, and round-the-clock medical support.
A Reflection of Vision 2030 Values
The Kingdom’s approach to managing the Two Holy Mosques during Ramadan aligns closely with the goals of Vision 2030, which emphasizes the importance of enriching the pilgrim experience and positioning Saudi Arabia as a welcoming destination for Muslims worldwide. The combination of traditional religious guidance with modern service delivery underscores the Kingdom’s dual commitment to heritage and innovation in serving the global Muslim community.
