Saudi Arabia has officially approved the establishment of a Medical Referral Center, a strategic move designed to enhance the efficiency of the healthcare system and ensure comprehensive medical care for patients. The center will streamline the process of transferring patients between hospitals and healthcare facilities, both domestically and internationally, ensuring faster and more effective services.
The newly established center has been assigned 15 key responsibilities, including organizing referral procedures, optimizing treatment pathways, monitoring emergency cases, maintaining a unified patient database, and ensuring the optimal use of medical resources. It will also focus on improving transparency, reducing waiting times, and guaranteeing that patients receive the right medical specialty at the right time.
This initiative is aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to advance the healthcare sector by enhancing efficiency, improving quality, and providing the best possible services to citizens and residents, while strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a leader in advanced healthcare.
