Saudi Arabia and France Explore Helicopter Manufacturing Opportunities

As part of strengthening industrial cooperation between Saudi Arabia and France, the Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources,

Bandar Al-Khorayef, held discussions with Airbus Helicopters officials to explore partnership opportunities in the field of helicopter manufacturing.

During a visit to the company’s facility in Marignane, both parties reviewed potential collaboration areas, including joint manufacturing, technology transfer,

and the development of maintenance and repair services.

This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s strategy to localize advanced industries and expand its domestic aviation sector, in line with the objectives of Vision 2030.

The Kingdom aims to enhance its capabilities in helicopter and drone production, while also building a robust maintenance and support ecosystem,

capitalizing on its strategic location and abundant resources.

Estimates suggest that the aviation sector could contribute up to $88 billion to the Kingdom’s GDP by 2035 and create over 377,000 jobs,

underscoring its crucial role in driving economic diversification and sustainable development.
