Mauritania Airlines Denies Rumors of Hajj Plane Crash in the Red Sea

Mauritania Airlines on Tuesday firmly denied circulating reports claiming that one of its aircraft carrying pilgrims had crashed in the Red Sea, describing them as completely unfounded.

In an official statement, the airline said, “The news about a crash involving one of our aircraft in the Red Sea is entirely baseless.

We urge the public and media to verify information before sharing it.”

The company confirmed that all Mauritanian pilgrims traveling aboard its flights had safely arrived in the Kingdom,

with no incidents reported on any of the scheduled trips.

As part of its Hajj operations, Mauritania Airlines operated three outbound flights on May 23, 24, and 25, 2025.

The return flights are scheduled for June 12, 13, and 14, according to the coordinated plan with relevant authorities.

The airline also emphasized that it reserves the right to take legal action against those spreading false information that threatens the safety of passengers and damages the company’s reputation.

Meanwhile, the Mauritanian News Agency confirmed that all pilgrims arrived safely in Saudi Arabia, and no incidents were recorded throughout the travel process.
