In this context, the company participated in the 2025 Global Stadiums and Arenas Summit, held from April 29 to 30 at the Mandarin Oriental Al Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh.

This participation comes at a pivotal moment, as the Kingdom is witnessing an unprecedented leap in sustainable sports infrastructure projects in preparation for hosting the 2034 FIFA World Cup, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to position the Kingdom as a global hub for major sports and entertainment events.

Dr. Mohannad Al Sheikh, CEO of Johnson Controls Arabia, stated:
“Our participation in this sports summit aligns with Saudi Arabia’s ambitious vision to become a global leader in the sports industry.

Our extensive experience in delivering advanced and sustainable stadium solutions — including our work on the World Cup stadiums in Qatar — places us in a unique position to support the Kingdom’s transformational goals.”

On the second day of the summit, Dr. Al Sheikh delivered a keynote speech, highlighting the latest trends in smart stadium innovation, and presenting strategies to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability in modern sports venues.

Johnson Controls Arabia also showcased its offerings through a dedicated booth at the exhibition, where it presented its latest technologies and opened doors for new strategic partnerships that support the Kingdom’s leadership in the sports sector.

The company also highlighted a range of its advanced digital solutions within the OpenBlue platform, which enables smart management of stadiums and sports facilities, enhances fan experience through digital engagement and control technologies, and presented its York-branded cooling systems, manufactured locally in the Kingdom.

It’s worth noting that Johnson Controls’ contribution to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar marked a major milestone.

The company implemented a unified platform for facility management, powered by OpenBlue technologies and Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.

A Digital Twin was created for each stadium, allowing operational teams to monitor and optimize performance, safety, and environmental impact in real-time using predictive analytics — significantly enhancing efficiency, sustainability, and data governance.

This groundbreaking experience exemplifies Johnson Controls Arabia’s commitment to delivering integrated solutions that make a real difference in managing modern sports infrastructure and supporting the Kingdom’s vision for a smart and sustainable sports future.
