Riyadh hosted the Japan Festival 2025, marking 70 years of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom and Japan, in a vibrant celebration that highlighted the depth of friendship, cultural exchange, and shared progress between the two nations.
Organized by the Embassy of Japan in Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and several partners, the event featured a wide range of activities showcasing both traditional and modern Japanese culture — including kimono displays, culinary demonstrations, calligraphy, music, anime showcases, and technology exhibitions.
The festival also emphasized growing cooperation between the two nations in energy, education, innovation, and artificial intelligence, aligning with Vision 2030’s goals to strengthen global partnerships grounded in creativity and knowledge exchange.
Japan’s Ambassador to the Kingdom praised the long-standing ties, saying they are “built on mutual trust and continuous collaboration,” adding that the future holds even greater opportunities for economic and cultural growth.
The event drew large crowds of Saudi and international visitors, who experienced a unique blend of Japanese heritage and Saudi hospitality, reflecting the enduring spirit of friendship that continues to unite both nations.
