Riyadh recently hosted a high-level international forum focused on the rising role of women in diplomacy, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League.
The panel, titled “Women in Diplomacy,” was part of the broader International Communication and Cooperation Forum.
The event brought together distinguished female diplomats and foreign affairs officials from around the globe, who discussed the key challenges and opportunities facing women in diplomacy and how to promote their access to leadership and decision-making roles at both national and international levels.
Speakers emphasized that the empowerment of women in diplomacy has become a strategic priority in many countries, with increasing numbers of women holding senior positions in foreign ministries, embassies, and international bodies.
They also highlighted the importance of investing in young female talent through training programs, mentorships, and inclusion in official delegations to build a new generation of skilled and confident women leaders in global affairs.
