Greek Diplomat Praises ‘Excellent Momentum’ in Ties with the Kingdom, Highlights Cultural Partnerships

Greek diplomat Maira Myrogianni, Secretary-General for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy, has praised the “excellent momentum” in relations between the Kingdom and Greece, emphasizing growing opportunities in culture, education, and handicrafts.

Speaking at the inaugural Cultural Investment Conference in Riyadh, she described cultural diplomacy as having limitless potential.

She noted that Greece’s Crafting Greece initiative aligns perfectly with the Kingdom’s Year of Handicrafts, offering avenues for collaborative projects that celebrate heritage and creative industries.

On education, she highlighted the presence of Greek students in Saudi universities and Saudi students in Greece, stressing the importance of introducing modern Greek language programs as part of cultural exchange.

She also pointed to the first High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council held in AlUla earlier this year, co-chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, as a milestone that laid the foundation for deeper cultural and economic ties between the two nations.
