French Jewelry School Hosts Elegant Gemstone Dialogue

The French Embassy in Riyadh recently hosted a cultural event organized by L’ÉCOLE Middle East, School of Jewelry Arts, affiliated with Van Cleef & Arpels.

The event focused on the world of diamonds from both artistic and scientific perspectives.​

The discussion was led by Caroline Boneti and Laetitia Gilles-Guery, lecturers and gemologists from the Paris campus,

who provided in-depth insights into the history of diamonds, their unique physical properties, and their cultural significance throughout history.​

Sophie Claudel, Director of L’ÉCOLE Middle East, praised the growing creativity of Saudi jewelry designers, highlighting their inspiration from local heritage,

including architecture and traditional motifs, and their incorporation of materials such as pearls, lapis lazuli, and gold into their designs.​

This event is part of a series of initiatives by the school in the Kingdom, including workshops and exhibitions in AlUla and Riyadh,

aimed at fostering cultural dialogue and sharing artistic knowledge in the field of jewelry.​
