Egyptian Comedic Actor Soliman Eid Passes Away at 64

Veteran Egyptian comedian Soliman Eid passed away on Friday morning at the age of 64 after suffering a sudden heart attack that led to severe circulatory failure.

He was pronounced dead at a hospital in Sheikh Zayed despite efforts to save him.

His son, Abdelrahman Soliman, confirmed the news on social media, stating that the funeral prayer will be held after Friday prayers at the Islamic Complex in Sheikh Zayed.

Born in 1961 in the Kit Kat district of Giza, Eid graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts. He launched his acting career in the late 1980s and gained popularity for his light-hearted, comedic roles.

Throughout his decades-long career, Eid starred in more than 150 productions spanning film, television, and theatre. Some of his most notable works include “Terrorism and Kebab,” “Sleep in Honey,” “Hammam in Amsterdam,” and “Birds of Darkness.”

His death has saddened fans and colleagues alike, with many artists expressing their condolences and praising his humor, kind spirit, and contribution to Egyptian entertainment.
