In a move that underscores Saudi Arabia’s ambition to build sustainable smart cities, Diriyah Co.has entered into a strategic memorandum of understanding with South Korea’s Kakao Mobility to develop a comprehensive smart mobility system within the historic Diriyah development—one of the Kingdom’s most iconic cultural and tourism projects.
The agreement sets the stage for designing and implementing advanced digital infrastructure that will support more than 50 million annual visitors.
Plans include a fully integrated transport network featuring seamless mobility solutions,
intelligent parking systems, and interconnected services that enhance the visitor journey from arrival to departure.

The first phase will begin with a pilot project for smart parking, with a broader vision to deploy a city-wide digital ecosystem that leverages artificial intelligence and big data.
The goal is to streamline movement across the development, reduce congestion, improve logistics efficiency,
and introduce environmentally friendly solutions that align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 commitment to sustainability.
This transformative partnership is expected to redefine mobility within heritage and cultural destinations by merging tradition with cutting-edge innovation.
Economically, the project is projected to contribute approximately SAR 18.6 billion ($4.96 billion) to the Kingdom’s GDP and generate around 178,000 jobs,
highlighting the profound impact of smart city investments on national development and quality of life.
