The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) held a major event in Riyadh under the theme “Confronting Ideological Extremism and Building Safe Societies,” bringing together international experts and representatives from security, media, and academic institutions to address global challenges related to radical ideologies.

The forum aimed to discuss modern strategies to counter extremist thought, highlight preventive and rehabilitation programs, and explore collaborative approaches among member states to strengthen societal resilience against radicalization.

Participants emphasized the importance of international cooperation and knowledge exchange, noting the role of education, media, and religious institutions in promoting tolerance and dismantling extremist narratives.

The event also examined how digital platforms and social media are used to spread extremist content, underscoring the need for innovative digital tools and balanced counter-narratives to prevent online radicalization.

Speakers stressed that combating extremism requires a comprehensive, multidimensional approach—one that combines security measures with education, awareness, and intellectual reform. They commended Saudi Arabia’s leadership in driving global initiatives that promote moderation, coexistence, and peace.

The event reaffirmed the coalition’s commitment to coordinating regional and international efforts against ideological extremism and advancing long-term strategies for intellectual security and counterterrorism cooperation.
