In a significant diplomatic move, China has officially announced a visa exemption for citizens of Saudi Arabia and several other Gulf countries,
allowing them to enter Chinese territory without prior visa arrangements.
This initiative aligns with China’s broader strategy to enhance tourism, trade, and investment exchanges with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
It aims to facilitate easier travel and stronger ties between the two regions.

Under the new policy, Saudi citizens can now visit China visa-free for a specified period, provided their visit is for tourism, business, or family purposes.
The visa-free entry also applies to citizens of the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait, effectively covering the entire GCC.
The move is expected to boost travel flows between China and the Gulf, especially among business professionals and investors,
while signaling China’s deepening confidence and interest in strengthening relations with Gulf nations.
Gulf governments and embassies have welcomed the decision, viewing it as a major step toward building closer economic and cultural ties—particularly as the region continues to expand its global strategic partnerships.
