Saudi catering group CATRION Catering Holding Co. has signed a five-year general services contract to provide catering services for patients, companions, and staff at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) in Riyadh, valued at SAR 262.02 million.
Expanding into Healthcare Services
The agreement, signed on March 11, 2026, was announced in a formal disclosure to the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul). CATRION said the contract aligns with its strategic plan to diversify business activities and expand operations to include healthcare institutions — a sector that has been growing rapidly in Saudi Arabia as the Kingdom scales up its healthcare infrastructure under Vision 2030.
King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre is one of the Kingdom’s most prominent tertiary care institutions, headquartered in Riyadh and operating additional campuses in Jeddah and Madinah. It serves as a major referral center for complex medical cases across Saudi Arabia and the wider region, handling high patient volumes that require sophisticated and continuous hospitality and catering services.
Financial Impact and Strategic Context
CATRION noted that the five-year contract begins as of the site handover date, with a positive financial impact expected to be reflected in its results from the second quarter of 2026. The agreement also supports the company’s sustainability plans and principles, underscoring the emphasis placed on responsible business practices across the Kingdom’s corporate sector.
For CATRION, the healthcare vertical represents a natural expansion beyond its core food service and facilities management business, which has historically served aviation, oil and gas, and industrial sectors. By entering into long-term institutional catering agreements with hospitals of this scale, the company is positioning itself within a sector that stands to grow significantly over the next decade.
Healthcare Investment Under Vision 2030
Saudi Arabia has committed to substantially increasing healthcare capacity as part of Vision 2030, with investments flowing into new hospital construction, medical cities, and specialized care facilities across all regions. The government’s target of improving healthcare quality while expanding access has created a parallel demand for support services — including catering, facility management, and patient care operations — that companies like CATRION are well placed to address. CATRION’s SAR 262 million agreement with KFSHRC is a direct reflection of the commercial opportunities that this healthcare expansion is creating for Saudi service providers.
