Qatar’s Baladna has signed initial contracts worth more than $500 million with a group of Algerian and international suppliers and consultants, marking the launch of the first phase of its integrated agri-industrial project in Algeria.
Valued at $3.5 billion, the project is centered on producing powdered milk to strengthen food security, reduce dependency on imports, and bolster the national economy. It also aims to localize food production while creating both direct and indirect job opportunities.
This initiative underscores Baladna’s commitment to sustainable investment in agriculture and food industries, positioning Algeria as a regional hub for dairy production and contributing to long-term economic growth.
