Al-Hilal Club officially announced on Saturday the termination of the contract of Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus,
following the team’s recent exit from the AFC Elite Champions League.
The decision comes as a clear step by the club’s management to reset the course and seek improved performance in the remaining domestic competitions.
The club confirmed that legendary former player Mohammad Al-Shalhoub has been appointed as the interim head coach for the first team during the upcoming rounds of the Saudi Pro League (Roshn League),
while the club initiates the search for a permanent replacement.

Al-Hilal is currently preparing for a crucial match against Al-Raed, scheduled for next Wednesday,
which will mark Al-Shalhoub’s debut on the sidelines in a coaching capacity.
This move is part of a broader reassessment of the team’s technical direction, especially after the recent continental disappointment.
Despite leading the domestic league table, the team’s early exit from Asia’s top competition triggered widespread reflection among fans and management.
The club expressed its gratitude to coach Jesus for his efforts and wished him success in his future endeavors.
