Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has directed the disbursement of more than SAR 3 billion as Ramadan assistance for social security beneficiaries across Saudi Arabia. The royal directive, issued on the recommendation of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, underscores the leadership’s enduring commitment to supporting vulnerable families during the holy month.
Under the initiative, each head of household will receive SAR 1,000, while each registered dependent will receive SAR 500. The funds are being deposited directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts, ensuring swift and seamless access to the aid ahead of the remaining days of Ramadan.
A Longstanding Tradition of Ramadan Generosity
The annual Ramadan aid program is one of the most significant social welfare disbursements in Saudi Arabia, reflecting the Kingdom’s deep-rooted tradition of caring for its citizens during the holiest month of the Islamic calendar. Year after year, the leadership has demonstrated its resolve to ease financial pressures on families enrolled in the social security system, ensuring that no household is left behind during Ramadan.
The initiative is part of a broader framework of social protection programs that Saudi Arabia has expanded considerably in recent years. From the Citizen’s Account program to direct housing support and employment subsidies, the Kingdom has built one of the most comprehensive social safety nets in the region.
Minister Al-Rajhi Commends the Royal Directive
Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi expressed deep gratitude to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the generous directive. “This initiative reflects the leadership’s unwavering commitment to supporting citizens and ensuring them a dignified life,” he said, adding that the ministry remains dedicated to delivering social protection services efficiently to all eligible beneficiaries.
Al-Rajhi noted that the disbursement aligns with the Kingdom’s broader Vision 2030 goals of enhancing quality of life and building a robust social welfare system that responds to the evolving needs of Saudi families.
Ramadan Preparations Across the Kingdom
The financial assistance comes alongside sweeping preparations across Saudi Arabia to welcome millions of worshippers during Ramadan. At the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah, authorities have mobilized more than 10,000 carts and over 500 volunteers as part of what officials describe as the largest-ever Ramadan service operation. The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has rolled out comprehensive plans to ensure the comfort and safety of pilgrims and worshippers throughout the month.
These combined efforts — financial relief for families in need and world-class services at Islam’s holiest sites — reflect Saudi Arabia’s position as a leader in humanitarian care and religious stewardship during Ramadan.
