Saudi Arabia is preparing to launch its first-ever cable car to the Cave of Hira, a landmark project that will make the journey to Jabal Al-Noor more accessible than ever.
Instead of a two-hour hike and more than 1,700 steps, visitors will soon reach the sacred site in under 10 minutes, marking a major transformation in the experience of visiting one of Islam’s most revered locations.
The cable car is part of the newly developed Hira Cultural District, located at the base of the mountain. The district will feature a full cultural complex, educational exhibits, and upgraded visitor facilities designed to accommodate millions of pilgrims each year.
Set to open by the end of 2025, the project supports Vision 2030’s goals of enhancing religious tourism, improving visitor experiences, and preserving key Islamic heritage sites.
Officials emphasize that the Hira Cultural District reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to protecting Islamic history while presenting it through modern, engaging, and world-class infrastructure.
