This guide answers the questions ministry staff ask most often about Faris, using only what the ministry and its education departments publish on their official pages, and leaving out the many unofficial walkthroughs that circulate online.<\/p>\n<p>What is Faris? The name is an abbreviation of the ministry&#039;s project for its administrative and financial resources systems, known in English as the Financial and Administration Resources Information System. The ministry describes it as a system that delivers a range of self-services automatically to its staff, while giving managers the power to approve their employees&#039; requests. The idea is simple: an employee gets a service and the approval of the person in charge without visiting any office.<\/p>\n<p>Why did the ministry adopt it? The stated aims are to serve ministry staff, save their time and effort, raise productivity and develop electronic transactions in support of the Kingdom&#039;s development. For a teacher whose school is far from the education department, that means a request that once needed a visit and a paper file can now be submitted, approved and tracked from an online account.<\/p>\n<p>Who uses Faris? It is built for ministry staff in two broad groups: male and female teachers on one side, and administrative employees on the other, whether they work in schools, in education departments or at the ministry itself. School principals play a double role, using it as employees with their own requests and as approvers for the people who work with them.<\/p>\n<p>How do I log in? The service pages on the ministry&#039;s website and on education department sites, including those of Jeddah and Unaizah, link their Start Service button to the Faris self-service portal. When we checked it on 29 October 2026, the portal worked like this:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Open it from the service link on the ministry&#039;s site or your education department&#039;s site, not from a link shared in chat groups.<\/li>\n<li>Choose the interface language, Arabic or English.<\/li>\n<li>Enter your employee user name and password in the two login fields.<\/li>\n<li>If you cannot get in, use the forgotten password option on the same page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After signing in, the employee reaches the self-service menu that holds their requests and records.<\/p>\n<p>What can employees do in Faris? According to the ministry&#039;s description, as carried by the national encyclopaedia Saudipedia, staff can submit requests and follow each one until a decision is issued. The services include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applying for leave, and reporting back to work when it ends.<\/li>\n<li>Asking to cut, extend, change or cancel a leave.<\/li>\n<li>Requesting allowances.<\/li>\n<li>Applying for retirement.<\/li>\n<li>Viewing the salary statement.<\/li>\n<li>Viewing basic personal data and the employment history record.<\/li>\n<li>Checking overtime and work assignment (secondment) records.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What does it offer school principals? For a principal, Faris turns from a request portal into a daily management tool. A principal can confirm that an employee has resumed work, file allowance requests on behalf of staff, notify the relevant office when an employee is absent, and look up employees and their requests. It even covers supplies: a principal can order items from the ministry&#039;s warehouses for the school and follow the order until it arrives.<\/p>\n<p>Is Faris linked to performance reviews? Yes. In the job performance section of its website, the ministry publishes a user guide titled performance evaluation for administrative staff through the Faris system, now in version 1.6, which walks administrators through the evaluation steps inside the system. In practice, an administrative employee finds their review in the same account they use for leave and salary.<\/p>\n<p>What should I check before asking for leave? Look at your balance and the right type of leave in your account first, so the request goes through complete the first time. Once sent, it goes to the person with approval powers, and you can follow it from the same menu until the decision comes out. When you return, remember that reporting back is a separate service that your principal or direct manager approves. Three come up most. A failed login or forgotten password is handled first through the recovery option on the login page. Job or pay details that look wrong in your account should be raised with staff affairs at the education department you belong to. General questions and complaints go through Tawasul, the ministry&#039;s official beneficiary care platform, which is also the channel its service pages point to.<\/p>\n<p>What is the latest official update? As of 29 October 2026 the ministry had not announced any change to the Faris address or the way staff sign in, and the service pages on education department sites still lead to the same self-service portal.
