Saudi Arabia\u2019s National Development Fund has approved more than SAR 421 million in financing through its Gaming and Esports Financing Program through the end of 2025, highlighting growing institutional support for the sector as an emerging pillar of the Kingdom\u2019s digital economy.<\/p>\n
The financing has benefited 82 organizations operating across different areas of the industry and contributed to the development of more than 127 games, supporting the growth of the gaming and esports ecosystem while strengthening the ability of Saudi companies to expand and compete.<\/p>\n
The figures were included in a report issued by the National Development Fund\u2019s Gaming and Esports Financing Program, which reviewed its key achievements since launch and its role in building a specialized financing ecosystem for the industry.<\/p>\n
The report highlighted the role of development financing in supporting companies, encouraging investment and enabling innovation. It also examined the sector\u2019s growth indicators, the development of its financing ecosystem and several success stories involving beneficiary organizations.<\/p>\n
The report further assessed the current state of the gaming and esports industry both locally and globally, as well as opportunities for continued growth in the years ahead.<\/p>\n
Najla Al-Ajmi, First Executive Director of the Gaming and Esports Financing Program, said the report reflects the progress made in developing a specialized financing ecosystem for the sector.<\/p>\n
She noted that the program goes beyond providing financing, helping companies expand and strengthen their competitiveness while contributing to the development of Saudi Arabia\u2019s broader gaming and esports ecosystem.<\/p>\n
The initiative forms part of the National Development Fund\u2019s efforts to direct development financing toward promising sectors and support businesses with strong potential for growth and sustainable economic impact.<\/p>\n
The expansion of financing for gaming and esports reflects Saudi Arabia\u2019s efforts to build an integrated ecosystem covering game development, business growth, talent development and investment in industry infrastructure.<\/p>\n
