Al Hilal Saudi Club has confirmed that its current board of directors, headed by Prince Nawaf bin Saad, will remain in place after the Ministry of Sport began transferring the stake held by the club\u2019s non-profit institution to the Public Investment Fund (PIF).<\/p>\n
Al Hilal Club Company said in an official statement that the term of its current board has been extended for 90 days effective July 17, 2026, allowing the board to continue its strategic and supervisory responsibilities over the company\u2019s operations, contracts and commitments.<\/p>\n
The announcement came after the Ministry of Sport confirmed that it had begun transferring the shares held by the non-profit institutions of Al Hilal, Al Ittihad, Al Ahli and Al Nassr, representing 25% of each club company, to PIF after completing the required regulatory procedures.<\/p>\n
The ministry also announced the dissolution of the boards of the four clubs\u2019 non-profit institutions as part of the second phase of the ownership transfer process under the Sports Clubs Investment and Privatization Project.<\/p>\n
As a result, the 25% stake previously held by Al Hilal\u2019s non-profit institution is being transferred to PIF.<\/p>\n
Al Hilal Club Company clarified that the transfer of the non-profit institution\u2019s stake does not mean the end of the current club company board\u2019s mandate.<\/p>\n
According to the statement, the board, led by Prince Nawaf bin Saad, will continue carrying out its strategic and supervisory responsibilities, including overseeing the company\u2019s operations, contracts and existing commitments.<\/p>\n
The board\u2019s term has been extended for 90 days starting July 17, 2026, with the club saying that any related developments will be announced in due course.<\/p>\n
The decision allows the current management to continue overseeing Al Hilal Club Company during the transition associated with the restructuring of the club\u2019s ownership.<\/p>\n
The transfer of the non-profit institution\u2019s stake marks another significant change in Al Hilal\u2019s ownership structure.<\/p>\n
Under the ownership model introduced in 2023, PIF initially acquired 75% of the four club companies, while the respective non-profit institutions retained the remaining 25%.<\/p>\n
The latest move transfers that remaining stake to PIF, creating a new ownership structure for the four clubs while the wider sports sector continues to develop its governance, investment and financial sustainability models.<\/p>\n
Al Hilal confirmed that its board will continue overseeing the company\u2019s operations, contracts and commitments during the 90-day extension period.<\/p>\n
The continuation is intended to maintain administrative and strategic stability as the club moves through the ownership transition.<\/p>\n
The development comes as Saudi football clubs undergo broader changes in their commercial, administrative and investment structures as part of the Kingdom\u2019s efforts to develop the sports sector.<\/p>\n
