{"id":57587,"date":"2026-07-22T22:25:25","date_gmt":"2026-07-22T19:25:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thesauditimes.net\/en\/?p=57587"},"modified":"2026-07-22T22:25:25","modified_gmt":"2026-07-22T19:25:25","slug":"saudi-ai-native-startups-outpace-peers-in-strategy-and-growth-report-finds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesauditimes.net\/en\/saudi-ai-native-startups-outpace-peers-in-strategy-and-growth-report-finds\/","title":{"rendered":"Saudi AI-Native Startups Outpace Peers in Strategy and Growth, Report Finds"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<section dir=\"auto\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div class=\"flex w-full flex-col gap-1 empty:hidden\">\n<div>\n<p>Saudi Arabia\u2019s AI-native startups are demonstrating strong performance in strategic execution, revenue growth and productivity, outperforming regional and global peers across several indicators, according to a report by Amazon Web Services.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cEngines of Growth\u201d report surveyed 3,413 startup founders and senior executives across 20 countries, focusing on companies less than five years old that were built around advanced artificial intelligence from their inception.<\/p>\n<h2>72% Have a Formal AI Strategy<\/h2>\n<p>According to the Saudi Arabia findings, 72 percent of Saudi AI-native startups have a formal AI strategy, exceeding the global AI-native average of 68 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The results suggest that the key distinction lies not simply in adopting AI tools, but in designing business models, products and operations around AI capabilities from the beginning.<\/p>\n<h2>Annual Revenue Growth Reaches 150%<\/h2>\n<p>Saudi AI-native startups reported average annual revenue growth of 150 percent, compared with 62 percent for Saudi startups overall.<\/p>\n<p>That performance is also close to the global AI-native average of 156 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The report found that AI-native companies in the Kingdom are nearly five times more likely than traditional Saudi startups to generate more than $1 million in annual revenue.<\/p>\n<h2>Higher Revenue Per Employee<\/h2>\n<p>Productivity indicators were also strong.<\/p>\n<p>Around 48 percent of Saudi AI-native startups generate more than $400,000 in revenue per employee, compared with 28 percent of Saudi startups overall.<\/p>\n<p>The findings reinforce the report\u2019s broader conclusion that AI-native businesses can scale faster and reach major commercial milestones with fewer employees and in less time than traditional companies.<\/p>\n<h2>98% Have Integrated Cloud Services<\/h2>\n<p>Cloud adoption is nearly universal among the Kingdom\u2019s AI-native startups, with 98 percent integrating cloud services into their operations, compared with 75 percent of traditional startups.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, 63 percent have developed proprietary AI capabilities, including custom AI models, compared with 35 percent of Saudi startups overall.<\/p>\n<p>Another 45 percent are using AI extensively in research and development.<\/p>\n<h2>Building Businesses Around AI<\/h2>\n<p>Amr Al-Masri, AWS country leader for Saudi Arabia, said the key difference is not whether startups use artificial intelligence, but how they use it.<\/p>\n<p>Traditional companies often add AI to existing processes.
