Saudi Arabia has marked another milestone in its rapidly growing artificial intelligence ecosystem after Riyadh-based startup Think announced that it has secured more than $8 million in pre-seed funding, making it the largest AI infrastructure and deep-tech pre-seed investment round ever completed in the Middle East and North Africa.<\/p>\n

The funding highlights increasing investor confidence in Saudi Arabia’s deep-tech sector as the Kingdom accelerates its ambition to become a global hub for AI innovation under Vision 2030.<\/p>\n

Major Saudi Investors Back the Company<\/h3>\n

The investment round was co-led by RAED Ventures and Wa’ed Ventures, Aramco’s venture capital arm, with additional participation from Dhahran Techno Valley’s venture capital arm and several strategic angel investors.<\/p>\n

The newly raised capital will be used to expand Think’s engineering team, scale manufacturing, accelerate product development, and support commercial expansion across Saudi Arabia, the GCC, and selected international markets.<\/p>\n

Building the Next Generation of AI Infrastructure<\/h3>\n

Think develops an integrated AI infrastructure platform that combines proprietary hardware with orchestration software designed to simplify AI deployment while significantly reducing operational costs.<\/p>\n

Its platform integrates high-density liquid-cooled multi-GPU compute nodes with a proprietary bare-metal orchestration layer that maximizes computing efficiency, lowers power consumption, and optimizes GPU utilization.<\/p>\n

Higher Performance at Lower Cost<\/h3>\n

According to the company, production benchmark tests demonstrated GPU utilization exceeding 90%, compared with the industry average of 30% to 50%.<\/p>\n

Think also reported nearly a tenfold reduction in token processing costs compared with the average costs associated with leading frontier AI models, while relying on commercially available GPUs rather than specialized proprietary hardware.<\/p>\n

Future platform updates are expected to support heterogeneous computing environments that combine GPUs and specialized AI chips from multiple vendors.<\/p>\n

Supporting AI Sovereignty<\/h3>\n

Co-founders Ahmed AlSharif and Ammar Enaya say the future of AI will depend not only on larger models but also on more efficient, sovereign, and economically sustainable infrastructure that enables enterprises and governments to maintain full control over their data and AI operations without relying entirely on hyperscale cloud providers.<\/p>\n

Think is already involved in multiple pilot projects, production deployments, and strategic partnerships across Saudi Arabia and plans to expand throughout the GCC over the next 18 months.<\/p>\n
