Saudia, Saudi Arabia’s national flag carrier, has announced the launch of direct flights to Tokyo, expanding its international network and strengthening tourism, business, and cultural ties between Saudi Arabia and Japan as part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 aviation and tourism strategies.<\/p>\n

The new service will begin in November 2026, operating three weekly flights from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.<\/p>\n

Partnership to Strengthen Air Connectivity<\/h3>\n

The new route is being launched in collaboration with the Air Connectivity Program and the Saudi Tourism Authority as part of a broader initiative to expand Saudi Arabia’s global aviation network and increase direct international connections.<\/p>\n

The partnership aims to improve accessibility to the Kingdom while boosting travel and commercial exchanges between Saudi Arabia and Japan.<\/p>\n

Supporting Tourism and Vision 2030<\/h3>\n

According to Saudia, the Tokyo route supports the objectives of the National Aviation Strategy and the National Tourism Strategy by positioning Saudi Arabia as a leading global tourism destination and international logistics hub.<\/p>\n

The Saudi Tourism Authority is also working with travel partners and agencies in Japan to develop dedicated travel packages and promotional campaigns designed to attract more Japanese visitors to the Kingdom.<\/p>\n

Timed Ahead of AFC Asian Cup 2027<\/h3>\n

The launch comes ahead of Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the AFC Asian Cup 2027, providing Japanese football fans and international visitors with a convenient direct travel option while strengthening the Kingdom’s readiness for one of Asia’s largest sporting events.<\/p>\n

Expanding Global Network<\/h3>\n

Saudia said the addition of Tokyo represents more than a new flight route\u2014it creates a strategic bridge that further strengthens the growing relationship between Saudi Arabia and Japan.<\/p>\n

The airline currently serves more than 100 destinations across four continents with a fleet of 153 aircraft and is continuing an ambitious expansion plan that will add 112 new aircraft to its fleet in the coming years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
