The Gulf Cup Football Federation\u2019s Disciplinary Committee has issued a series of sanctions against Saudi club Al-Shabab and Iraq\u2019s Zakho following post-match altercations during their AFC Gulf Champions League semi-final clash.<\/p>\n

Al-Shabab secured a place in the final after defeating Zakho 4-3 on penalties, following a 1-1 draw in regular and extra time at Khalifa International Stadium in a highly competitive encounter.<\/p>\n

However, tensions escalated after the final whistle, as players from both sides were involved in a physical confrontation on the pitch that extended into the tunnel area, requiring security intervention.<\/p>\n

As a result, Al-Shabab received an official warning along with a fine of approximately $82,000 and will be held accountable for any damages caused by fan misconduct.<\/p>\n

Zakho was handed similar sanctions, including an official warning and a fine of the same amount. Individual penalties were also imposed, with player Amjad Attwan and goalkeeper Ali Kazem each suspended for four matches and fined, while team official Taha Zakhouli was fined and banned from accompanying the team for four matches.<\/p>\n

The Disciplinary Committee emphasized the importance of maintaining sportsmanship and discipline both on and off the field to preserve the integrity of the competition.<\/p>\n

Al-Shabab is now set to face Qatar\u2019s Al-Rayyan in the final, after the latter advanced by defeating Kuwait\u2019s Al-Qadsia, setting up a highly anticipated title clash.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
