He confirmed that detailed studies for a world-class airport in Mecca have been completed, and that the strategic, economic, and investment directions for the development have received formal approval. Beyond the airport, a metro system for Mecca is also in development as part of the holy city’s comprehensive transport transformation. Mecca’s road infrastructure has already undergone major upgrades in recent years, with significant investment directed at improving access to key religious sites and managing the extraordinary traffic volumes generated during the Hajj and Umrah seasons.
