It is a divine call filled with tranquility, stirring the soul with devotion and connection to the Almighty.

What is the Fajr Adhan?

The Fajr Adhan is the first of the five daily calls to prayer in Islam. It is proclaimed at the break of dawn, before sunrise. Unique to this Adhan is the phrase: “Prayer is better than sleep”, a reminder of the spiritual elevation in choosing worship over rest.

Witnessed by Angels:

Allah says in the Qur’an:
“Indeed, the recitation of the Qur’an at dawn is ever witnessed” [Al-Isra: 78].
Both night and day angels witness the Fajr prayer, marking its immense significance.

Light on the Day of Judgment:

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Give glad tidings to those who walk to the mosque in the dark with perfect light on the Day of Judgment”
[Narrated by Tirmidhi].

Under Allah’s Protection:

Whoever performs the Fajr prayer is under the protection and care of Allah for the entire day.

Blessings in Livelihood:

The Prophet ﷺ prayed:
“O Allah, bless my nation in their early mornings”, linking early rising with productivity and divine blessings.
