In a significant step towards fostering a culture of reading and enhancing public awareness, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture has officially launched the “Digital Library” platform.
The initiative, spearheaded by Deputy Minister of Culture Hamed bin Fayez and developed by the Library Authority, aims to empower future generations with knowledge, creativity, and participation in shaping the Kingdom’s future.
A National Initiative for Knowledge Accessibility
Unveiled during the Leap 2025 conference in the presence of Library Authority CEO Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Asim, the Digital Library represents a pioneering national project that aligns with the Library Authority’s vision to make reading a fundamental societal value.
During the launch ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture emphasized the vital role of education in developing individual skills across various fields, highlighting the library’s mission to enhance accessibility to knowledge for all segments of society.
The Library Authority has invited the public to explore the platform, encouraging individuals to take advantage of its diverse resources and advanced features designed to support intellectual growth, cultural awareness, and innovation in Saudi Arabia.
About the Digital Library Platform
The Digital Library, launched under the Ministry of Culture, is the first national digital library platform in Saudi Arabia—a hub where curiosity meets knowledge.
The platform is dedicated to lifelong learning, providing seamless access to an extensive collection of books, multimedia resources, and educational programs. It features materials in Arabic, English, and other languages, covering a wide range of topics such as literature, history, science, and the arts.
With a vision to create a national digital knowledge archive, the Digital Library seeks to bridge knowledge gaps and offer a comprehensive, easily accessible, and well-integrated resource to meet the educational and intellectual needs of the Saudi community.
