Saudi authorities have enacted a new regulation prohibiting grocery stores and small retail outlets from selling any tobacco products, including traditional cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and other smoking alternatives.
This initiatives aligns with national efforts to improve public health and curb tobacco use, especially among youth and teenagers.

The ban covers all forms of tobacco—from conventional cigarettes and cigars to vaping devices. The policy will be rolled out in stages, giving retailers time to adjust and phase out tobacco sales from their shops.
Officials emphasize that the move aims to create a healthier environment, reduce smoking rates, and limit easy access to tobacco—objectives that support broader public health goals within Vision 2030.
Authorities are also strengthening oversight and enforcement measures through coordinated efforts between health agencies and inspection teams to ensure retailers comply with the regulations and prevent any violations.
